The Historical Icon of Tayma

Haddaj Well in Tayma is one of the oldest and most famous wells in the Arabian Peninsula. It dates back to the 6th century BC and remains a witness to the profound history of the Tabuk Region. It has received great care since the reign of King Saud bin Abdulaziz, may Allah have mercy on him.

Situated in Tayma and serving as a testament to the depth of history in the Tabuk Region, Haddaj Well is regarded as the most renowned well in the Arabian Peninsula and one of the largest archaeological wells worldwide.

The depth of this well is estimated at 13 meters, and it was in use until recently. It has been mentioned in travelers’ writings, reflecting its significant status to them.

The construction is believed to date back to the 6th century BC, with an area of approximately 250 square meters.

Attention to the well increased since the era of King Saud bin Abdulaziz, may Allah have mercy on him, who visited the region in 1373 AH / 1954 AD and ordered the well's maintenance and the installation of four pumps.

This was to increase the consumption of its water for drinking and irrigation purposes.
