Eastern
A Historical Witness to the Pledging of Allegiance to the Founding King
Eastern
House of Private Allegiance is located in the ancient Al-Kut district in Al-Hofuf, Al-Ahsa Governorate. It is deemed to be a significant milestone in the record of traditional architecture in the Eastern Province.
The interior design represents an architectural achievement, characterized by aesthetic refinement and precision in execution, reflecting a deep awareness of the use of architectural and decorative elements of that era.
The construction of this house dates back to 1203 AH / 1789 AD, by Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Omar bin Muhammad Al-Mulla, who held the position of Al-Ahsa Judge.
It covers an area more than 705 square meters. It has several rooms, collectibles, tools, manuscripts, and archaeological contents, emerging as a comprehensive model of large historic domestic architecture.
In 1331 AH / 1913 AD, it witnessed the private allegiance (Bay'ah) to His Majesty King Abdulaziz—may Allah have mercy on him—which qualifies it to be at the top of the National Heritage list in the Kingdom.
Due to the importance of this architectural legacy, it was converted into a museum that tells the story of the Al-Ahsa people’s allegiance to the Founding King. It became a destination that narrates a side of Al-Ahsa's past to visitors.
It offers them the opportunity to closely explore the house's details, ancient designs, and its wealth of landmarks, artifacts, and rare contents.
