Al-Ijabah Mosque

A Madinah Landmark from the Prophetic Era

Madinah

Al-Ijabah Mosque is one of the landmarks associated with the biography of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). Our Noble Prophet supplicated to Allah there, and his prayer was answered. It is located north of Al-Baqi and has witnessed successive renovations from the era of Umar bin Abdulaziz up until now.

Al-Ijabah Mosque is located north of Al-Baqi, on the northeastern side of the Prophet's Mosque. It was built during the era of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). Thus, it holds a special status among the mosques of Madinah linked with his fragrant biography.

Its name derives from an incident in which the Prophet (PBUH) supplicated to Allah Almighty at this site, asking for three things—two of which were granted by Allah.

The mosque was renovated during the era of Umar bin Abdulaziz and was built with carved stone. Additionally, its walls were restored in 9th century AH. This care and renovation continued over the centuries.

In 1343 AH / 1925 AD, some of its parts collapsed and were subsequently restored. Later, modern organizational works gave the mosque a renewed architectural appearance while preserving its historical symbolism. It was reorganized as part of the Mosque Care Program and rebuilt using reinforced concrete.
