A Historical Symbol in Al-Mubarraz City
Eastern
Sahoud Palace is located in the heart of the ancient city of Al-Mubarraz in Al-Ahsa Governorate. It is considered one of the largest historical palaces due to its vast area, with a size exceeding that of Ibrahim Palace in Al-Hofuf by ten thousand square meters.
This palace was built between 1790 and 1800 AD, during the first period of Bani Khalid’s reign. It represents an important chapter of traditional architecture in the eastern Arabian Peninsula and holds significant historical status due to its association with the history of the First Saudi State. The famous historian Uthman bin Bishr mentioned, in 1213 AH / 1798 AD, an epic of resilience for the First Saudi State that took place in this palace during the invasion of the Eastern Province by Ali Pasha Kikhia, commissioned by the Governor of Baghdad.
The palace possesses many tourism elements due to its distinctive strategic location, as it is easily accessible through four main streets. This is in addition to the availability of supporting services and its interior design, which reflects a blend of strength and beauty. The site affords visitors the opportunity to engage with the historical ambience and to examine the particulars of its authentic architectural fabric.
