A Model of Defensive Architecture in Al Majma'ah Governorate

Jalajil Observatory is a circular mud tower erected on a stone foundation, constructed for the purposes of observation and defense. It is considered one of the models of defensive architecture in Najd and has been restored to remain an archaeological landmark reflecting Jalajil's historical identity.

Jalajil Observatory is located in the city of Jalajil in Al Majma'ah Governorate, on the right side of the road heading north. It is situated atop a small hill rising about 15 meters above its surroundings.

It is an ancient mud tower, circular in shape, built on a stone foundation. It was used for observation and defense, representing a model of defensive architectural arts in Najd.

This observatory overlooks the city of Jalajil, forming a part of its ancient urban identity. It represents an architectural model replicated in numerous locations across Najd. It has been recently restored in order to preserve its historical value and to reinforce its standing as one of the governorate’s archaeological landmarks.
