Tuwaran
Hail
An Archaeological Town Linked to the Saga of Hatem Al-Tai
Hail
Tuwaran is an ancient town located north of Jabal Aja, approximately 40 km from Hail City. It is historically famous for its association with the story of Hatem Al-Tai, the symbol of generosity in Arab heritage, as his grave is said to be within the town's cemetery. The site includes a number of ancient castles and palaces dating back to the Islamic eras, serving as physical evidence of successive settlement in the area.
About 30 ancient North Arabian (Thamudic) inscriptions, in addition to a dated Islamic inscription, were found in Tuwaran, which highlights the historical and archaeological significance of the site as a meeting point for former Arab civilizations and a settlement center that continued across centuries.
