Uhud Martyrs' Graveyard

A Memory of Heroism and a Field of Loyalty

A graveyard containing the remains of the Companions who were martyred in the Battle of Uhud, foremost among them is the Master of the Martyrs, Hamzah ibn Abd al-Muttalib (May Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) continued to visit them and pray for them until his last days.

The Uhud Martyrs' Graveyard is located approximately five kilometers north of the Prophet's Mosque (Al-Masjid al-Nabawi), close to Aynayn Mountain (Jabal Aynayn). It holds the remains of the Companions who were martyred in the Battle of Uhud (Ghazwat Uhud), including the Master of the Martyrs, Hamzah ibn Abd al-Muttalib (May Allah be pleased with him), the uncle of the Messenger of Allah (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him).

The Messenger of Allah (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him (used to visit their graves and pray for them until his final days. Today, many Muslims visit it in emulation of their Prophet, Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him).
